Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) has returned to his universe after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, seeking redemption as a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. However, when he bonds with an experimental symbiote from within Oscorp's Secret Projects Division, Peter becomes a darker version of his once compassionate self. Meanwhile, an alternate Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) also known as Spider-Gwen, has accidentally been transported into Peter's universe. Gwen wishes to stay with Peter and he wants the same thing, however, the symbiote leads Spider-Man to become overly protective of Gwen, forcing her to confront him and save him from his inner demons. Moreover, a sadistic killer is lurking behind the scenes. Hired by Harry Osborn, Cletus Kasady seeks nothing but carnage... and Oscorp is about to grant him his desire.
