Описание: Thomas Astarita summarizes the Constitution and how it became the framework for American government. Through its corrections of the flaws seen in the Articles of Confederation, highlighted in Shays' Rebellion, the Constitution created a Federal Republic form of government, stronger central government, three branches of government (legislative, executive, judicial), included the Three-Fifths Compromise and Connecticut Compromise, a Senate and House of Reps, and was defended by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay in The Federalist Papers. This allowed the national government the ability to tax its people. Critics of the Constitution were known as Anti-Federalists, who feared tyranny from a strong central government as seen previously under British rule. The Constitution was ratified with a Preamble and 7 Articles, and later added 27 Amendments, the first ten being the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights included civil liberties like freedom of expression. Government is kind of cool if you don't think about it.
