The next few days are expected to remain very hot and mostly dry across much of Pakistan. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that a strong heatwave is affecting many regions from June 7 to June 12, with temperatures rising several degrees above normal.
Punjab: Most districts, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur, are likely to experience hot to very hot weather. Daytime temperatures may remain 4–7°C above normal, with little chance of significant rainfall during the next few days.
Sindh: Extremely hot and dry conditions are expected in interior Sindh. Temperatures could approach or exceed 45°C in some areas, while coastal areas such as Karachi may remain slightly less hot due to sea breezes.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir: Most areas will remain hot, although northern mountainous regions may see isolated clouds, gusty winds, or brief thunderstorms. Any rainfall is expected to be scattered and localized rather than widespread.
Balochistan: Quetta, Zhob, and surrounding areas are expected to experience mainly dry weather with high daytime temperatures. Southern and western parts of the province may face particularly intense heat.
For farmers, the main concern over the next few days will be heat stress, increased irrigation demand, and faster soil moisture loss. Livestock should have access to shade and plenty of water, while field operations are best carried out during the early morning or evening hours.
