Описание: Huge Wildfire Spreads Across Southern France Amid Scorching Heat

A fast-moving wildfire swept through wooded hills near Cotignac in southern France’s Var department, sending thick smoke across the region. Authorities said the blaze had scorched around 1,700 hectares of land and was spreading towards the towns of Correns, Cotignac and Montfort.

The prefecture described it as the largest wildfire to hit Provence since the beginning of the summer. Around 800 firefighters were deployed to battle the flames, while hundreds of residents were evacuated to temporary shelters as a precaution.

Several roads were closed as emergency crews worked to contain the fire and protect nearby communities.
