Recorded at Joe Neth Studio on 31st March, 1978.
Victor was handpicked by Nimal Mendis (the renowned musician, composer and music director) to sing his song ‘Ran Tikiri Sina’ for Mrs. Sumitra Peries’ film ‘Ganga Addara’, thus becoming the first Sri Lankan Chartered Accountant to be a play-back singer for a film. The song was sung with Nirasha Perera (then a 12-year old student of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya) and recorded at Joe-Neth Studio on the 31st of March 1978. Some kids from Sri Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Borella, too joined Nirasha in singing the chorus.
‘Ran Tikiri Sina’ which became an instant hit with the release of the film ‘Ganga Addara’ was very soon re-recorded by well-known singers for commercial purposes. Thus, it created history by becoming the first Sinhala song originally sung and made popular by two lesser-known singers to have been re-recorded by popular singers.
