Price list:
8$ - Aluminium Tubes
7$ - Linear Ball Bearings
2$ - 1/4" to 3/8" Thread Convert Screw a.k.a Tripod Adapter
1$ - 3/8" UNC Screw
2$ - Rounded estimate of the other things I had lying around.
So I decided to step up my YouTube game a little and one way to do that was with a slider. Those moving shots always look really nice and add some dynamic element to the video.
I was looking all over the internet for inexpensive sliders but even the cheapest ones weren't that super cheap and the quality and the smoothness was lacking too. So my quest for a DIY slider began!
I watched a lot of tutorials how to make one, some were good, some were really bad. The good ones always used ball bearings to achive the smooth sliding. In the process of coming up with my version I stumbled upon videos of DIY 3D printers (typical procrastination), where I first saw the linear ball bearings in action. That was my heureka moment.
I looked on YouTube and at that time I found only 1 short video where they would use them on a video slider. So now there are at least two! 😀

It's actually 8pcs, I just wanted to have more to choose from but the quality of bearings wasn't that different from each other.
