· Introduce medical maximizing-minimizing theory, i.e. that some patients have general preferences for more versus less intensive approaches to medicine.
· Understand what medical maximizing-minimizing is, what it isn’t, and how it can shape patients’ preferences for specific medical treatments.
· Identify how to use this concept to communicate more effectively and efficiently with patients, and foster patient-centered care.
