The first portion of class is spent explaining color theory and practicing with mixing colors using the three colors listed below plus white for tinting.

The second portion of the class goes into detailed instructions and demonstrations on how to paint the boat in the water as seen in the photograph shown in the photo. You will learn how to line up and scale the painting as you paint as well as how to mix colors to create the variation of tones seen in the photo.

Paint:
Golden heavy body acrylics:

1.Quinacridone magenta
2.Pthalo blue (green shade)
3.Benzimidazolone
Yellow Medium
4.Titanium white

Palette pad (or old magazine or wax paper)
Assorted brushes (synthetic brushes are sturdier and better priced)

Surface to paint on
Pad of Bristol paper (any size) (so you can do several pieces)
Or any porous surface will work
Small canvas, paper, wood, canvas pad

Water jar

Paper towels
And most importantly the urge to MAKE ART
Optional:
wine
snacks etc.
