The General Havelock pub is older than most other buildings on the High Road, even predating the Town Hall. It sits on the corner of Hainault Street in what was once the beginning of Havelock Terrace. McDonald's came to Ilford relatively early in its UK lifetime. It was the 14th restaurant to open on these shores and also came before Stratford and Romford branches. *Correction: Ilford's McDonald's was the 15th to open in the UK, not 14th. Original listing data from McDonald's was attributed incorrectly.
