My quick trip to the DREAM STREAM! (Below Spinney Mountain Reservoir)! (S2:E27)!

The Williams 5 got a cabin for 3 nights in South Park, Colorado! I made a quick AM run to the Dream Stream! The South Platte River has a 5 mile world famous section from Spinney to Elevenmile!

I had not fished this area for about 25 years!

I found the rising fish extremely hard to catch. I tried midges and small elk hair caddis and had no luck. Once I switched to a strike indicator and nymphs, I lost one nice one (shown on the video). After that I went hopper/dropper with a PMX on top! I bought this PMX from St Peter’s fly shop in downtown Fort Collins, Colorado.

I lost a really nice one that took a bead hares ear nymph (size 18). I casted back to the same run and a nice rainbow slammed the PMX! I landed that fish after one heck of a fight!

I caught a tiny trout after that on my trailing orange copper John (below the PMX), and called it a day around 11 AM. It was time to head back to my family!

I will be back (and I won’t wait 25 years this time)!
