(13 Jun 2014) Dutch football fans were jubilant on Friday after the Netherlands defeated Spain with a 5-1 score in their World Cup opener in Salvador, Brazil.
Fans were cheering and singing as they left the Arena Fonte Nova stadium.
"It was great. I didn't expect for 1-5. I love it. I hoped for 1-1, maybe 1-2, but 1-5, it was amazing. I love it," said Dutch fan, Mark Schyks
Friday's game was a disappointment for the Spanish fans.
"Spain is finished. It was a total disaster. The World Cup is over for Spain," said Spain supporter Manuel Alves.
Spain meets Chile next in Rio de Janeiro while the Netherlands will play against Australia.
