REQUIREMENTS FOR GETTING MARRIED IN ZIMBABWE:

MARRIAGE BETWEEN ZIMBABWEANS

1. Application Fee
2. National I.D. or passport- original and photocopies
3. Passport size photos in colour- 2 each with jacket and tie for men
4. Divorcee decree ( If Divorced) – a certified copy from the High Court
5. Death Certificate( if Widow) – Certified Copy (Chapter 2:23)
6. Letter from Marriage Officer if not getting married in court.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MARRIAGE BETWEEN A ZIMBABWEAN AND A FOREIGNER

There are additional requirements for a Zimbabwean marrying a Foreigner before they can have a wedding in Zimbabwe which are as follows;

1. A Non Marriage Certificate from country of origin ( Confirmed by Embassy)
2. A Clearance from Police (C.I.D) Zimbabwe and country of origin
3. A Marriage Clearance from the Immigration Department of Zimbabwe
4. Zimbabweans who want to marry Foreigners are also required to produce a Non –Marriage 5. Certificate from the Registrar General’s Office

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR IMMIGRATION CLEARANCE

1. Application Letter addressed to the Chief Director of Immigration, from the Zimbabwean spouse requesting the marriage clearance certificate in respect of the foreign spouse.
2. Certified copy of the National Identity document from the Zimbabwean spouse.
3. Certified copy of Non-marriage certificate, in respect of the Zimbabwean spouse issued by the 4. Registrar General within the last six (6) months.
5. Certified copy of Passport in respect of the foreign spouse.
6. Certified copy of Proof of lawful stay/entry in Zimbabwe (foreign spouse)Authenticated Police 7. Clearance in respect of the foreign spouse issued by authorities from country of origin/last permanent residence.
8. Authenticated Non-marriage certificate in respect of the foreign spouse issued by authorities from country of origin or last permanent residence.
