This New Year's Eve message focuses on the biblical figure of Enoch from Genesis 5:21-24 and encourages believers to "walk with God" in the coming year (1:39).

Pastor Luke begins by setting the context, noting that the world Enoch lived in, described as full of wickedness and violence (2:56-3:13), was similar to today's world according to Jesus' words in Luke 17 (2:31-2:49). Despite this corrupt environment, Enoch and Noah were two men who "walked with God" (3:57-4:04), which means they maintained purity, walked by faith, and pleased God with their lives (4:40-4:51).

The sermon highlights three key aspects of Enoch's walk with God:

The Decision to Walk with God: This must be a purposeful decision (6:35-7:09). Enoch didn't accidentally walk with God; he made a conscious choice at 65 years old to change his way of life and follow the Lord (7:27-8:57). It also needs to be a personal decision (9:02-9:42), independent of family influence or upbringing, much like a New Year's resolution (12:39-13:04).

The Difference of His Walk: Enoch's walk was markedly different from the corrupt and violent world around him (13:16-14:42). He was pure (15:39-16:01), not partaking in the sins of his time. He also walked by faith (16:10-16:49), living for the world to come and focusing on God rather than worldly pleasures (16:50-17:07). Furthermore, he was a witness (17:46-18:04), unafraid to speak out for God in difficult times.

The Dedication of His Walk: Enoch walked with God for 300 years (21:08-21:13), demonstrating unwavering commitment through hard times and different seasons of life (21:48-22:25). His dedication led to a testimony where "God took him" (22:50-23:02), symbolizing a close communion with God and serving as a picture of being "translated to heaven" before judgment (23:41-23:59).

Pastor Luke concludes by urging Christians to make the same decision to walk with God, be different from the world, and be dedicated to Him in the coming year (24:34-24:51).
