In this project, the University of the Free State (UFS) joined hands with the Free State Department of Education (FSDoE) to provide daily, interactive, curriculum focused support across the province, including to the most rural areas. Through a VPN which includes more than 70 centres, 5 hours of subject specific support are broadcasted daily covering the curriculum of more than 10 subjects/grades - totaling to 25 hours of live lessons broadcasted per week. The lessons are directed at the training of teachers and teaching of learners, live from the studio at the UFS. Questions and comments can be send to the presenter at no cost to the teacher and the learner.
Through a blended T&L model, which includes both distance & face-to-face contact time, and the innovative use of ICT, a potential of 43 000 learners & 1 250 teachers across the province receive weekly support.
Presenters include some of the best teachers the Free State has to offer, as well as FSDoE Subject advisors.
