This Day in History: November 29 | FC Barcelona Founded, Palestine Divided & Air 858 in 75 seconds

Описание: November 29th is a day of monumental firsts and profound tragedies! In 1947, the UN General Assembly voted to adopt Resolution 181, which recommended the partition of Palestine into independent Arab and Jewish states. In 1877, Thomas Edison first demonstrated the phonograph, launching the age of recorded sound. Richard E. Byrd made the first flight over the South Pole in 1929. Tragically, the day is also marked by the horrific Sand Creek Massacre of 1864 and the terror attack on Korean Air Flight 858 in 1987. We also remember the flight of Enos the chimp (1961) and the founding of FC Barcelona (1899).
