Mk 32 Mod 9 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube Testing

Описание: Firing tests of the torpedo launch tubes for the second Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD), Brisbane, have been held in Osborne, South Australia. The tests were undertaken by Babcock Pty Ltd at their premises in the Techport Australia precinct. The tests were part of acceptance testing of the weapon systems for Brisbane. This involved firing an MU-90 practice delivery torpedo from an Mk32 Mod 9 Surface Vessel torpedo tube. The system is made up of three main components - a launcher, an air charging panel and a torpedo loading tray. The launch system will eventually be used to deploy Eurotorp MU-90 lightweight torpedoes.
