To reach them, the team deploys a custom Hot Tap Extension Tool, creating a sealed pipeline across the void to tap the inner tank safely. In the end, Prinz Eugen yields ~229,000 gallons, about 95% of the safely reachable oil, then the hull is sealed with permanent tamper-proof caps.
