Cigars remain an important driver of profits for convenience retailers. Total annual cigar sales in the UK are now worth just under of £265m, with the medium/large segment growing by 17.4% in volume and 23.4% in value versus the same time last year.
In this video Clara Endresen, brand activation manager at Scandinavian Tobacco Group, outlines the trends defining the category. With people out and about enjoying their newfound freedoms, the company expects adults to continue to trade up to a larger format cigar and enjoy the emergent cigarillo segment.
