Our annual, Agroecology Fairs held in the districts of Murehwa and Mbire, organized by the Agroecology Initiative team in Zimbabwe are not just events. These gatherings promote sustainable farming practices and foster knowledge exchange among farmers, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. In its first edition, the Agroecology Fair transformed from a seed and livestock fair to show the growth that the event has gone through and its impact on smallholder farmers and other food system actors. These gatherings showcase innovative agroecological approaches, highlight success stories, and encourage collaboration to address challenges in food systems. Beyond raising awareness, they empower communities to adopt sustainable practices, demonstrating the transformative power of collective action in creating resilient and inclusive food systems.
