Here I am sharing how to ferment idli/dosa batter in an instant pot using the yogurt mode. First soak the washed rice and urad dal with a pinch of fenugreek seeds for at least 6 hours.Then grind it in a mixer grinder with about 1/2 cup of cooked rice. Pour the batter in the inner pot and add salt to taste and mix the batter really well with clean hands. Close the instant pot with its lid with the valve in the venting position. Press the yogurt mode two times. It will be showing 8hours normal. 8hrs is the default time. Thats it. The next day the fermented batter will be ready to make soft Idlies.
The ratio of rice to dal used is 1:3
