Visiting Riker's Island, NYC as a member of the public - My Experience

Описание: My intention visiting Riker's Island was to film the Riker's Island Bridge, and the portion of the island before the security checkpoint. Little did I know that the checkpoint started as soon as I took the MTA Q100 bus over the bridge. The experience was pretty shocking.

Riker's Island is the name of the island as well as New York City's largest jail complex. The island is home to numerous jails, and is scheduled to close in the distant future. Security here is tight, and if visiting an inmate, one must pass through multiple metal detectors and consent to multiple searches.
