This week I demonstrate how you can work out the colour cast of your ND filter and use the colour balance tool to measure the tint and fix it in lightroom. As colour casts affect big stoppers the most due to the density I demonstrate this technique using a ND1000 10 stop big stopper filter from K&F, though this method will work with any brand of filter.
I demonstrate this in the studio, then apply this knowledge out in the field.
This method is slightly more involved than using the auto white balance picker in lightroom, but is a great way to determine if your filter has colour cast in the first place and help you make an educated decision about whether you are happy with the brand you have purchased.
