Not long ago, a colleague told Jim Nathan, "We are sleepwalking into autocracy." That's a good way to describe America's downward trajectory, and it underscores how important it is that we have organizations — like Floridians for Democracy — working as a countervailing force.
In this short 5-minute video, Jim will brief you on the organization's purpose, activities, and its partnerships with other organizations to magnify and accelerate impact.
This video is drawn from an hour-long conversation among leaders in four Fort Myers-area activist organizations (in addition to Floridians for Democracy), including Connie Bennett Martin, Women's March Fort Myers; Kathy Mayo of the National Organization of Women, Lee County chapter; and Sandy Frank, League of Women Voters, Lee County. Rose Gatens, Jim's colleague in Floridians for Democracy, also participates.
