MSU program empowers teachers with STEM research

Описание: A program at Montana State University that supports rural and reservation elementary teachers is getting a big boost—thanks to a major grant.

The research experience for teachers in engineering is a summer program that gives educators hands-on experience with stem research.

The goal is to help teachers feel more confident bringing science and engineering into their classrooms.

MSU professor Paul Gannon says introducing stem early can make a big difference for students.

“We'd like to humanize the profession of engineering, both for the students and their teachers. Science will reveal that most elementary teachers are ill-equipped to teach engineering or science matter subjects at that level. And so, we are improving the self-efficacy of these elementary teachers,” Gannon said.
