This song was written by Willie Nelson, and Elvis turned it into a hit as sad as the lyrics are. I believe he was crying out to his wife in this one with the broken heart he had since '58, then again in '72 that pushed him over the edge and into reclusion - pray for him as I do. Elvis loved our Lord and this country and there will never be another - ever.
