Описание: Thetford Forest is situated on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk in East Anglia. It is a vast and captivating landscape covering over 19,000 hectares (approximately 47,000 acres) and is England's largest man-made lowland forest. Originally planted in the 1920s to replenish timber reserves depleted during World War One, it is now managed by Forestry England. While primarily composed of pines, the forest also features heathland and broadleaf trees, creating a diverse environment for wildlife. Thetford Forest harbours its own supernatural secrets including unexplained lights moving between the trees and the sound of hunting horns echoing through empty woodland. The forest is also associated with reports of a legendary Bigfoot-type creature, often referred to as the "Brecks Bigfoot" or the "Beast of the B1112". And it is home to some of East Anglia’s most reputedly haunted structures including Thetford Warren Lodge and All Saints Church in Santon Downham. Brandon Country Park is a specific managed section within the broader area of Thetford Forest itself. It is home to the Edward Bliss Mausoleum which hosts one of Norfolk’s most bizarre ghost stories. At nearby Weeting Castle some visitors have also reported strange phenomena such as disembodied voices, fleeting shadow figures and encounters with the legendary Black Shuck. The Black Shuck is a large spectral black dog said to roam East Anglia & is often believed to be an omen of misfortune.
