Victoria Plaza Mall Jingle (Lyric Video)

Описание: Victoria Plaza Mall is the first-ever shopping mall in Davao Region, located in J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City, opened in March 1993. It is also the second full-scale mall in Mindanao, next only to Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City which opened in 1991.

It was one of the pioneer attractions of the city that featured six air-conditioned cinemas, a fountain, merry-go-round, a large parking space, and restaurants surrounding the complex. It was home to some of the pioneering branches of fast-food chains known in the Philippines, such as Jollibee, McDonald's, Chowking, Greenwich, and Shakey's. It had a large supermarket named Park 'N Shop, and a mid-upscale department store named Victoria Department Store, both of which were still popular among locals as they sold exclusive and luxury items at affordable prices.

Sadly, due to the opening of other competing shopping malls in the area, Victoria Plaza has had a steady decline and fell into disarray until it was forced into administration sometime in the mid-2010s when it was sold to Philippine National Bank. On March 27, 2019, the mall was taken over by LTS Pinnacle Holdings, the parent company of the NCCC Group. Today, it is now known by its current name NCCC Mall VP.

In this video, you will hear the jingle of Victoria Plaza Mall, which was played on specific times: during the opening time (usually at 10:00 AM), 12:00 noon, 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM and at closing time (normally at 8:00PM or at 12:00 midnight during a Midnight Sale). Most locals only remember a few words from the jingle.

After the sell-out to NCCC, the jingle was replaced by the NCCC corporate anthem.

Let's reminisce those days in the pioneer shopping destination in Southern Mindanao.

(P.S.: I was a former employee of Park 'N Shop, the supermarket anchor tenant of Victoria Plaza. I used to inspect and maintain the mall's PA system in the last few months of my work at the mall. This is where I got the jingle. Still, credit goes to the company that produced and the people who recorded the jingle.)
