This video shows how to tie into your climbing harness using a "Scott's Locked Bowline" knot. This version of bowline is inherently secure: it will not accidentally untie itself as you move around while climbing. This knot is an excellent choice for rock climbing and other life-critical applications.
Compared to the more traditional figure-8 knot, this bowline has several advantages:
1) It does not get jammed under heavy load, such as a big lead fall or a sequence of falls.
2) It is post-eye tiable, so it does not leave any residual knot after removing the rope from your harness.
3) It is compact and less bulky.
4) It uses less rope.
5) It is easy to tie and easy to check.
