An Oral History of the Michael Jackson Feud that led to his demise

Описание: With the news of Drake suing Universal Music Group for defamation in the aftermath of his loss to Kendrick Lamar during their 2024 rap beef, it led me to think about other instances of when artists went against their label and came out on top.. OR suffered the brutal consequences of fighting the machine that has the power and resources to make or break your career. One of the most infamous examples of this was the vicious feud between Michael Jackson and his label Sony in the early 2000s. This is a battle I have always heard about and have read about the various conspiracy theories about how people believe Sony, among other powerful entities conspired against Michael, which ultimately led to his untimely demise, but I never knew the actual details. Before we dive in the actual dispute between the two entities, we first need to go back to the early 80s when Michael was beginning to take a keen interest in music ownership and finding ways in which he could expand his business portfolio.
