Not for network broadcast, but feel free to share and/or embed- Another very active day with severe weather in and around the NYC Metro. Severe thunderstorms formed early in the day in the Lower Hudson Valley of NY and tracked south and east towards the NYC Metro during the early afternoon. Temperatures topped out around 100 degrees and the dewpoints averaged in the mid 70s here in my area of Queens, NY so you knew it was just a matter of time before things went crazy. Storms congealed just west of NYC around 4pm and moved into the city around 5pm with torrential rains and tons of lightning. This round of storms effectively broke our 4th heatwave of the season!
