Their families often face impossible choices when going out: Do we bring the elderly along and hope the venue is accessible, or cancel the outing so they aren’t left behind?

Caregivers frequently skip vacations altogether, worried about falls, inaccessible toilets, and managing medication on the go. Enter Duofu, a Taipei-based social enterprise that designs accessible van tours designed for fun and adventure — not just medical errands.

What will it take to ensure Taiwan’s rapidly ageing population can remain active members of family life, rather than just recipients of care?
