This slideshow shows you the difference between Dekton ultracompact Surfaces and Silestone Quartz surfaces in various design settings.
Whilst both products are manufactured by the same company, Cosentino, who produces both stones, has set apparent differences in the performance of Dekton and Silestone.
These are two different materials that are the same to the touch and the eyes. Silestone offers a quartz worktop range, and Dekton contains raw materials, glass and porcelain.
You can use Silestone only in interiors, but with Dekton, you can create stunning outdoor spaces.
Silestone withstands up to 150-celsius degrees of heat; Dekton can take up to 300 Celsius degrees of heat.
Dekton is such compact material that you can sometimes chip an edge when accidental impact occurs, but Silestone is less prone to chipping because it contains polymer resins. These resins make Silestone less rigid and more flexible, meaning that it is also easier to fabricate, translating into lower labour costs than Dekton.
