Chosen by Renée van Wijngaarden for Op de Ring, Emma van Engelen presents her vision alongside 60 looks on a 75-meter catwalk. With support from Levi’s®️, her use of repurposed denim pushes tradition into new terrain.
Emma does not design for the mainstream. She designs for those who claim space. Her work explores protest dressing as a language of defiance and protection, shaped by her own experience navigating the industry.
Through her label Bhumi, Emma merges historical silhouettes with 3D-printed structures, offering a glimpse into a future where garments act as both shield and statement. Sculptural, intimate, and precise, her pieces make space for bodies and voices often left out of the frame.
We are excited to learn more about her craft, and can’t wait to see how she incorporates Levi’s®️ denim into her vision of fashion as the decoration of the body.
