Illinois Secretary of State, Jesse White obviously believes anything goes as far as the use of the public forum. That has to be the reason why he has given permission to a foolish person to display a so-called Festivus Pole in the Rotunda of the Illinois Capitol. What is a Festivus Pole -- it is a metal broom stick set in a Christmas tree. It is a Hollywood creation that is clearly fictional.
Why is it that Secretary White would give permission for this nonsensical display? Why is it that Secretary White cannot say no to a ridiculous request? Does Secretary White have any political courage to say no to this foolishness?
I guess not...
