This is part 3 of 4. Watch parts 1 and 2 also of this case history. Alyson came in for an initial evaluation and Dr Raman felt very confident that he could help get to the root cause of her symptoms. She then chose to go through a series of diagnostic testing. Once it was determined where the correct jaw/neck alignment should be, Alyson was then fitted with a physiologic neuromuscular fixed orthotic for 90 days.
At her one week follow up, Alyson was already feeling a lot better. She went 4 days without a migraine and they used to be daily. Her jaw pain was drastically improved and she was able to eat more than just soup. Prior to treatment she felt like she had a rod stabbing her in the neck and now it feels as if it has been removed. Alyson also said that she has more energy and can think more clearly.
At each follow up Alyson seemed to be making more and more improvements and she was ready to move forward with the next phase of her treatment. She chose the long term option of neuromuscular functional orthodontics in combination with full mouth reconstruction.
