Sonic Mania: Part 3: Studiopolis Zone (Super Sonic & Tails)

Описание: After traveling through Green Hill and Chemical Plant, Sonic & Tails end up in a brand new zone! A fantastic and beautifully-designed zone that might as well be the face of Sonic Mania, itself, including its music!

More references are abound, here! Such as the Popcorn Shop, Streets of Rage, the doors of Sonic Spinball, and the Hornet vans coming from Daytona USA! The name of this zone, itself, was an accidental reference to the current voice acting company for the modern games, right now.

It is here where you finally get to face one of the Hard-Boiled Heavies. In Act 1, you fight Heavy Gunner. With his rocket launcher, he sends 3 rockets at you: 2 red rockets, and 1 blue rocket. Dodge the red rockets and hit the blue one. It will automatically "damage" him by hitting one of the ordinary Eggrobos that are alongside him. The final hit destroys the Eggrobo piloting the helicopter they're in, as well as the helicopter, itself, causing Gunner to run for his life!

Of course, if you're Super Sonic, like I was in this video, all you have to do in order to beat this boss is the hold Right.

While Act 1 takes place outside through the city, Act 2 takes place inside a giant TV studio. We're talking the whole Animaniacs and Dynamite Headdy kind of experience, here! Maybe even some Pulseman influence since you can be electrified to travel through electrical circuits!

There's even a fun Easter Egg in Act 2 where you can show off one of Sega's original slogans for the Sega Genesis when they decided to compete against Nintendo. There are more than the one I showed, here.

Act 2's boss has you fight Eggman again, but this time it's during a weather report as told by a Cluckoid enemy from Sonic 3 & Knuckles' Mushroom Hill.

Sunny: The heat lamps in the area turn on. Stand under Eggman to avoid their rays while also getting some free hits on Eggman when he sinks from the air a little bit.
Windy: Strong winds pull you upward. Grab one of the bars on the side to keep yourself from hitting the spikes on the ceiling. You can also try to hit Eggman on your way up.
Stormy: The easier one to dodge! Just avoid the thunderclouds that appear right above you and strike you with lightning.

Again I've already unlocked Super Sonic at this point to make this boss fight insanely trivial, but I took a bit of my time with in anyway to show you how cute and funny it looks.

After beating this Eggman boss, the weather report is cut off, leading to the screen having some technical difficulties. Then, after completing Studiopolis, the screen fixes itself as Sonic & Tails discover some new news from it...

"BREAKING! FLYING BATTERY RETURNS!"

They then proceed to hitch a ride on the battleship the very same way they did back in Mushroom Hill.

The buzzing from that screen is ripped right from a Sonic 25th anniversary event in 2016 that introduced the world to Sonic Mania. The stream for this was so bad that it caused this very sound effect. It even has the exact date of that stream on the screen: 072216 = July 22, 2016.
