LOOI - Your Desktop Robot Companion - First impressions.

OK, so, first off... this arrived yesterday and I have only had a limited time to 'play with LOOI' so this is NOT an in-depth review.

Rather it is my opinion/first impressions of this 'desktop robot' (or expensive phone charger depending on your opinion!).

As you'll know if you've seen or, better still, subscribed to my channel, I'm pretty much gadget mad and I've had my eye on LOOI for some time now (since it was first launched on Kickstarter) so, when they dropped the price a little for the 'January Sales' - I finally got one!

If I'm perfectly honest (and I normally am!) - it's both a little disappointing and kinda neat at the same time.

On the bad side...

1.The advertising stated that it has ChatGPT integrated but, as far as I can tell... it doesn't!
2. It also seems to be a 'little hard of hearing' at times (strangely enough it seemed a little more 'responsive' when using an iPhone as opposed to an Android one.
3. The app could be - better!

On the good side...

1. What it does appear to have is it's own AI 'personality' (and it seems to remember and learn from you) and some cute and quirky features. For example...
It can 'explore' its surroundings (i.e. your desk) and it can detect edges and alike so it doesn't fall off (well - it hasn't yet!).
You can strike up a decent conversation with it (albeit that there can be quite a delay in between responses).
It can take photos using the phones camera and uses the speaker(s) on your phone for audio.
It was pretty easy to set up and allowed me to pair more than one phone and remembered each of them (obviously it can only use one at a time).
It has a MagSafe wireless charger (if your phone doesn't support this they do provide an adhesive ring in the package).

I will be playing with LOOI more over time and post another review in due course (when hopefully more features will have been released)....
