Throughout the years, I've been doing webinars, panels, and fun little podcasts, and I'm constantly asked about the lessons I've learned and the mistakes I've made. Well, I have a great relationship with failure, so I'm here to share some mind-blowing lessons with you. And trust me, this is just the beginning!

Lesson 1️⃣: A deal is not done until it's signed, they show up, and I get paid. But remember to celebrate the wins without spending the money before it's in your hands. The "F word" Fallout happens occasionally, so be prepared and don't let it knock you down.

Lesson 2️⃣: Watch out for the infamous Fat Cat Syndrome. It happens to the best of us when we've closed so many deals and have a pipeline full of potential. Don't stop working hard and putting up those numbers just because you're on a winning streak. Keep the momentum going!

Lesson 3️⃣: Everybody lies! Not because they're dishonest, but often because they don't want to disappoint you or reject your offer. Be transparent, less salesy, and let your clients and candidates know that you're there for them no matter what. Combat lying with open communication.

Lesson 4️⃣: Shiny new tools don't always mean better results. I've learned this the hard way after spending a fortune on a tool I barely used. While there are exciting advancements in AI and recruiting tech, remember that many tools aren't built by recruiters. Take the time to evaluate if they truly improve your workflow before diving in.

Lesson 5️⃣: Don't wait for recommendations and referrals to magically appear. Ask for them! Even if you do an outstanding job, people won't always recommend you or refer you to others without a gentle nudge. Take control and ask for what you deserve.

Lesson 6️⃣: Invest in yourself and your personal brand. You are not just your company; you are a brand in yourself. Market yourself, continuously learn, and invest in your development. Start early in your career and never stop pushing yourself to new heights.

Lesson 7️⃣: Your standards are not everyone's standards. Avoid getting frustrated when others don't meet your expectations. Focus on yourself, your growth, and your standards. At the end of the day, that's what matters most.

Lesson 8️⃣: Always prepare your candidates for interviews. Give them all the information they need, from what to expect to insights about the hiring manager. Prepping candidates is crucial for their success, and it reflects positively on your professionalism.

Lesson 9️⃣: Remember, every interaction is an interview. Even when it seems casual, it's never just a get-to-know-you chat. Candidates are always being evaluated, so ensure they're always prepared and ready to impress.

Lesson 🔟: You don't know what you don't know until you know it. Dwelling on past mistakes or blaming others won't change anything. Embrace the learning process and keep moving forward. Life
