Описание: If you're having deja vu, I released a version of this video on Sunday. But it included an error - not a massive error and not one that would change the conclusions you'd draw, but I thought it was important to correct it as lots of people said they'd be rewatching it!!!

So this video includes everything you wanted to know, plus more.... Following BA's own-goal, I am homeless when it comes to OneWorld loyalty. I value avios and would like to remain within the avios universe, so my shortlist of alternatives includes Finnair and Qatar....

This video explains the Finnair scheme in painful detail - painful, but necessary as there is some complexity to the calculations and you really need to understand them to know how to optimise the process....

This is a re-release of this video as I made a mistake in the first version I released. Two actually, but one was moderately significant. Finnair does not offer tier bonuses to members when flying on Finnair flights. They do on BA, AA, Iberia and on Finnair codeshare flights, but not on flights on their own metal with their own flight numbers. The increasing earning rates on higher tiers deliver the premiums to premium members without needing to add bonuses. So I've recut the video to correct the maths associated with this change. It actually makes it slightly more expensive to achieve and retain status when flying solely on Finnair, so it shouldn't change anyone's thought process and it doesn't change the conclusions of the video, but I thought it important to correct the video.

The second, much smaller mistake I made was that flights on partner airlines only earn avios - you can't earn tier points from flying. I am told Braathens (or Bra, as its now know) is ceasing scheduled flights so its only Latam that is left as a Finnair partner, but you'll only earn avios when flying with them.

Apologies for the error but as I mention in the video, this is a really hard video to make without actually being a member of the scheme myself!!!!
