First landings with the Avistar 46 Elite using full flaps on a choppy afternoon with 90 deg crosswinds as can be seen by the wing rocking. This was the first day out and 2nd flight after I changed the engine from the burnt Thunder Tiger .46 Pro that died on the maiden flight to an old Evolution .45A PTS from a wrecked Alpha 40. Either the Thunder Tiger will be rebuilt or an OS .46AX will be installed.
While the Evolution sounds lean, it was actually running rich as can be seen by the smoke trail visible on one takeoff. After another flight I changed out what I soon found was the original glow plug (that was 3 seasons old) and it sounded a lot better.
