By the start of the 1990s, it became clear that Doctor Who wouldn't be returning for a 27th season of adventures. Whilst fans eagerly awaited for news of a return to TV, several different mediums would step up to the plate, helping to keep the memory of the programme alive not just amongst fans, but amongst the general public too!

There's a lot to cover in first section of the Wilderness Years, and in this instalment of the History of Doctor Who Viewing Figures, we examine a selection of that expanded media! From original novels, to repeat screenings of classic adventures, to a pseudo 30th anniversary special and everything in between! Join me, as we look at Doctor Who between 1990 to 1995, and see just how our favourite sci-fi staple, was able to linger on through what is widely known, as its Wilderness Years...
