In this video, we tour the legendary Batterie de Longues-sur-Mer, one of the most intact German artillery batteries from WWII and the best-preserved coastal defense site from D-Day.
Located between Omaha and Gold Beach, this battery fired on Allied ships during Operation Overlord (June 6, 1944). Today, the original 150mm naval guns, concrete bunkers, command post, and observation station still stand — giving us a rare, real-life look at the firepower that defended Normandy.
Inside this tour, you’ll see:
4 original 150mm German naval guns (still mounted!)
Massive Atlantic Wall casemates and bunkers
The elevated command and observation post overlooking the English Channel
Real D-Day battle history explained on-site
Stunning coastal views and wartime strategy breakdown
If you’re into WWII history, D-Day locations, military relics, or battlefield tours, this is one of the most impressive sites you can visit in Normandy.
