After an early playoff exit and tumultuous relationship with Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving has decided to leave the Dallas Mavericks in the Summer of 2023 and join the Los Angeles Lakers!
Kyrie on his decision to go to LA: "To my people of Dallas - I have enjoyed my time here, but it is time for the phoenix to rise from it's ashes. I'm headed to join the team I am destined to be with."
Upon notice, the Mavericks were granted a sign and trade by Irving, sending the Lakers' 2027 and 2029 draft picks along with Tim Hardaway Jr. to Chicago in exchange for Zach Lavine.
