The phrase "white monopoly capital" has dominated the headlines in South Africa for months now. With those behind the phrase such as Progressive Professionals Forum and Black First Land First, the concept is aimed at transforming the country's economy which is according to them is largely at the hands of white people. Progressive Professionals Forum's president defines White Monopoly Capital as "an extreme end of the capitalist of this country". However, there are those who believe that "White Monopoly Capital " is the concept that has been created to protect what they say is the capturing of South Africa by the Gupta family. One of those is the South African Communist Party. In a recently concluded COSATU's CEC meeting, SACP's General Secretary, Dr Blade Nzimande took a swipe at those he said are using "white monopoly capital" to protect the Gupta family and enrich themselves. Dr Nzimande went on to say that Monopoly Capital has no colour and should therefore be fought in all fronts.
