The NSW Cup is a rugby league competition for clubs in New South Wales. It is contested by reserve squads of NSW-based NRL teams and also includes sides representing teams that once competed at the first grade level in the NSWRL Premiership but no longer field teams in the NRL competition.
The league has 13 teams, 11 from New South Wales, and 1 each from Auckland and from Australian Capital Territory.

The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, along with the Queensland Cup, acts as a feeder competition to the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership.
In doing so, the premiers of the two elite second-tier competitions face each other in the NRL State Championship match. The match is played like Super Bowl-type to determine the National Reserve Grade Champions. Played as curtain-raiser to the NRL Grand Final since 2014.
