In this video I take you to Dragontown, one of Bangkok’s most surprising new districts.
At first glance it feels like an old Chinese neighborhood — but this area is actually brand new, built on the site of the historic Sam Yan market district, right next to Chulalongkorn University.
What makes Dragontown so special is the mix of traditional Chinese-style architecture with modern city life. Colorful shophouses, lanterns, balconies, murals, and hidden details make this place incredibly photogenic — which is why you’ll see so many people here dressed up for photo shoots.
You’ll spot:
