At the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana officially launched the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Initiative. These are bold, strategic programmes aimed at unlocking the nation’s full productive potential.
The agenda is rooted in a clear vision: inclusive growth, export expansion, job creation, and structural transformation.
As H.E John Dramani Mahama stated during the launch:
“We are under no illusion that the path will be easy, but we will succeed. Government will not dominate this effort; it will facilitate.”
The first phase of implementation focuses on the Volta Economic Corridor, a flagship project designed to enhance North-South connectivity, improve trade logistics, and boost industrial productivity using the Volta Lake.
This initiative reflects months of hard work, extensive stakeholder engagement, and a shared belief in Ghana’s capacity to generate decent jobs and reduce reliance on imports.
The road ahead requires boldness, discipline, and strong partnerships. We are prepared.
