Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam will address Parliament on Nov 4 on the Parti Liyani case, in what he describes as a "major" ministerial statement. Mr Shanmugam said he will speak about the need to ensure that Singapore's law enforcement system is fair and just to all, regardless of status and background. The Indonesian domestic helper was previously convicted of stealing from then Changi Airport Group chairman Liew Mun Leong and his family. The High Court overturned the conviction in September, outlining issues with the findings and how the case was handled.
