Back in the mists of time, Intel had the bright idea of rebranding their CPUs in a way which would resonate with customers for over a decade and a half. The 2008 Intel Core i7-920 for the company's first dedicated HEDT platform, X58, would become among the first of many chips that would be associated with quality and performance in the minds of consumers.

In 2025, this CPU is almost old enough to drink. But can it still cook?
