🍌 Cake-Up Banana Pudding Bowl — Recipe
INGREDIENTS
Cake
• 1 boxed yellow cake mix
• Ingredients listed on cake box (eggs, oil, water)
Homemade Banana Pudding
• 1 ½ cups sugar
• ⅓ cup cornstarch
• Pinch of salt
• 4 cups milk
• 4 egg yolks
• 2 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• Optional: 1 mashed banana
OR Instant Pudding Option
• 1 box banana instant pudding
• Cold milk (per box instructions)
Whipped Cream
• Heavy whipping cream
• Sugar or sweetener
• Optional: splash of vanilla
Fresh Fruit
• Bananas (sliced)
• Strawberries (optional)
• Blueberries (optional)
Banana Drizzle (Your Version)
• 1 ripe banana, mashed
• 2–3 tbsp heavy cream
• 1 tsp cornstarch
• 1–2 tsp sugar or honey (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Bake the Cake
1. Prepare yellow cake according to box instructions.
2. Bake, cool completely, and cut into chunks.
2. Make Homemade Pudding
1. Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a pot.
2. Slowly add milk while whisking until smooth.
3. Cook over medium heat until thick.
4. Temper egg yolks with some hot mixture, then add back to pot.
5. Cook until pudding consistency.
6. Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.
7. Let cool. (Instant pudding users just mix and set aside.)
3. Make Whipped Cream
1. Whip heavy cream with sugar until fluffy.
2. Add vanilla if desired.
4. Make Banana Drizzle
1. Mash ripe banana smooth.
2. Add heavy cream and mix.
3. Stir in cornstarch until dissolved.
4. Warm on low 1–2 minutes until thickened and glossy.
5. Sweeten if desired.
6. Cool slightly.
5. Assemble
1. Layer yellow cake chunks in a bowl.
2. Add banana pudding.
3. Add sliced bananas (and optional berries).
4. Repeat layers.
5. Top with whipped cream.
6. Drizzle banana sauce on top.
6. Chill
• Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
